Heirs may need cash from an inheritance immediately for a variety of reasons, but are forced to wait months, even years, for probate to close. Our service enables heirs to bypass the long probate process and receive a cash advance prior to probate or trust distribution.

Benefits to Heirs

Heirs receive a portion of their inheritance in cash within a few days of providing the necessary documentation to us. Unlike funding from lenders, CFSI:

  • Does not require any loan points.
  • Does not require the recipient of the funding to make any payments.
  • Does not require that the interest be paid or accrued.

There are virtually no restrictions on how funding can be used. We work with heirs who seek funding to relieve their pressing financial needs. These needs include paying accumulated bills or bringing rent or mortgage payments current to avoid the threat of eviction or foreclosure. Others want to start or expand a business, pay educational costs, purchase a car or even acquire the down payment to purchase a home that is on the market when the request is made but not likely to be available by the time the probate is distributed.

Benefits to Professionals

Professionals enjoy both direct and indirect benefits as a result of providing information about this funding program to an heir. Such benefits include:

  • Relief from continuously being asked about distribution by an heir with an immediate need for funds.
  • Provide an opportunity for the heir to make timely payment of professional fees and reimbursement of costs due from the heir.
  • Receive a reimbursement from CFSI for time spent and costs incurred whole referring us to the heir.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What will a cash advance cost me and how is this determined?

A. Pricing is based mainly on the size of the advance, the estimated time of distribution, and various other integral details of the estate or trust. For example, a larger advance is less expensive to you than a smaller one. Our Underwriting Committee determines final pricing after thorough review of relevant documentation and information specific to the individual estate or trust.

Q. Would bad credit affect my advance request?

A. It is not necessary for an heir to have good credit to receive an advance. A poor credit rating --including delinquencies, bankruptcies, foreclosures, etc., -- will not normally influence an inheritance advance transaction.

Q. How fast can I get an advance on my inheritance?

A. As fast as 72 hours, or as long as two weeks or more - if relevant documents are missing or are difficult to obtain.

Q. Who is eligible to receive a cash advance?

A. An heir who is inheriting at least $15,000 from a probate which is already opened; or a beneficiary of a trust who will be receiving at least $15,000 in distribution(s) from the trust within three years.

Q. How much of an advance can I receive?

A. This depends mainly on the size of your inheritance and the estimated time frame of final distribution.

Q. Are there minimum and maximum cash advances?

A. The minimum advance is $5,000. There is no limit as to the maximum amount that may be advanced.

Q. Would I be required to make payments to "pay back" my cash advance?

A. No. This is not a loan that needs to be paid back. After you receive your advance, it's not necessary to make any payments.

Q. When does the company get repaid for the advance?

A. The company waits until the probate or trust distributes.

Q. What happens if the distribution of the estate is delayed?

A. The company waits until the estate or trust is ready to distribute. You would not be liable in any way for delays in distribution unless caused by you.

Q. Would I be eligible for an advance if I live in a state different from the probate or trust?

A. Yes. It's common for the heirs of an estate to reside in a state different from the deceased's state.

Q. Are there any geographic limitations at all?

A. No. There are no restrictions as to where we can do business. Although most of our fundings are within the USA, cash advances have been provided to heirs in other countries.

Q. How complicated is the paperwork?

A. The paperwork you will need to fill out is quite simple and takes no more than ten or fifteen minutes to complete.
